Sort & Pack Donations for The Homeless Stand Down

Join us to help sort and pack donations for The Homeless Stand Down! The Homeless Stand Down is an annual event to provide resources and respite to individuals in our community experiencing homelessness.

Due to COVID-19, The Homeless Stand Down will take place in a socially-distanced way this year, rather than an in person one-day event. The Cleveland Cares Packages will contain a variety of items including essentials, clothing, non-perishable food, a Guidebook, and items that make the clients feel loved.

Volunteers will help to sort donations, assemble kits, and create the care packages.  With the help of our community partners, we plan to distribute 1,500 care packages on February 13 to individuals experiencing homelessness.

All volunteers helping in-person will be required to wear a mask, and possibly gloves, for the entirety of their volunteer shift. Volunteers will be required to take their temperature as they enter the building before being allowed to volunteer. All supplies will be adequately spaced out in our warehouse to ensure proper social distancing for all volunteers. A flow will be created in such a way that volunteers will all travel in the same direction as care packages are assembled, again to ensure proper and safe spacing for all involved. We will allow 1.5 hours between shifts for sanitation and so that there are never more than 10 volunteers in the space at a time.
