Virtual Learning Partner( Buckeye-Shaker)
Virtual Intergenerational Learning Partner volunteers support the reading development of Emerging, Beginning, and Developing stage students (traditional grades K – 4). Each week, this group of caring adults will spend time reading to students, listening to students read, having conversations about books, and encouraging students to LOVE reading!
Learning Partners will spend time reading with students for 30-60 minute sessions throughout the week. Volunteers will also receive training and on-going coaching on how to support the learning goals taught by teachers during reading instruction.
Things to Remember: This project takes place with the use of Zoom, reliable internet, and a device (computer or tablet suggested). If you do not have access to this technology, please let us know upon sign-up.
Age Limits: This project is for volunteers ages 18 and up and requires a background check, which we will provide.
