VITA Translator
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Translators assist with foreign language speakers filing their taxes at our VITA tax sites. The Metro West - Lin Omni tax site serves Spanish language speakers, while our Asian Services In Action (ASIA) tax site serves Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic speakers. Our volunteers ensure our tax services remain free and accessible for the over 12,000 low-income and elderly taxpayers we serve every year.
As our tax sites handle sensitive client information, volunteers are required to pass an IRS ethics test. Attend one of our free, two-hour trainings to get IRS certified as a VITA Translator. Volunteer shifts last 3-4 hours, with many opportunities available throughout the week. Go to refundohio.org to learn more and sign up to get involved.
