Mental Illness Caregiver Peer Support Volunteer

One-to-One Caregiver Peer Support is one of three programs of Courage to Caregivers, a nonprofit with the mission to provide hope, support, and courage to caregivers and loved ones of those living with mental illness. This program connects caregivers with volunteers who have experience caring for a loved one with a mental illness. Volunteers provide personalized, one-to-one support to their assigned caregiver.

The volunteer's role is to listen, care, share personal experiences and empower caregivers to have hope. Training is available through a series of training videos. Volunteers are also provided with a guide containing community resources and ongoing support throughout the program.

Courage to Caregivers, Inc. is based in Northeast Ohio. Support is provided for the One-to-One Caregiver Peer Support program is provided virtually. Volunteers and participants live throughout the United States.
