Seeking Volunteers to Help Address Hunger in West Park 

Bellaire-Puritas Development Corporation, BPDC, is working to eliminate hunger in partnership with our community. We are looking for dedicated community members who want a tangible and important task in helping ensure the children and families in our neighborhood have the sustenance they need in order to thrive.  

The Community Essential Needs Collective, CENC, is made up of several stakeholders including: St. Paul AME Church, Blessed Trinity Church and the Bountiful Basement pantry, Neighborhood Family Practice, St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Bellaire-Puritas Development Corporation. The collaborative is dedicated to relief work that is needed due to the effects of the pandemic. Recently the CENC was awarded grant dollars to purchase additional cleaning and hygiene products to distribute. As a volunteer with Bountiful Basement and/or the St. Paul AME food pantry, you will be working to ensure that the reporting requirements are met for the grant dollars that have been brought into the pantries to help secure additional resources for families in our community. This task is essential and important to ensure we continue receiving funds now and if we were to apply again in the future.  

Your role: 

• Ensure that essential forms are thoroughly and accurately completed by clients. This will be done safely with the use of a tablet device that will be provided.  

• This is a regular volunteer role where you will be asked to help out once or twice a month, or perhaps weekly in approximately 2-2.5 hour shifts.  We can work together to determine the schedule that helps the pantry and fits your needs. 

• You will receive brief training on how to accurately report the information we need to satisfy the grant requirements.  

• Assemble cleaning supply kits for distribution 

This role is extremely important and we need a set of especially dedicated team members to make sure we are as effective and efficient as possible.
