Take Down: Flag Planting Memorial -- 9/11
The anniversary of the September 11th attacks marks a moment that through tragedy brought together cultures, bridged differences and united citizens of goodwill around the world in a spirit of unity and commitment. In tribute to all of those who were lost and the tens of thousands who rose in service, 9.11 has been designated a National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Volunteers will help to take down the 9/11 Flag Memorial and help to carefully pack the flags. This project is made possible with the support of the Great Lakes Science Center.
Things to Remember: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes appropriate for the weather. This project will take place rain or shine.
Special Driving Directions: Free parking is available in the front of the Great Lakes Science Center. If coming in a group, please carpool. Parking will not be reimbursed if you park in the garage. Meet on the grassy area next to the Great Lakes Science Center (on top of the parking lot).
Age Limit: This project is for volunteers age 12 and up. Volunteers under the age of 16 must serve alongside a parent or guardian. All volunteers under 18 must fill out and bring a youth waiver form signed by a parent or legal guardian.
